Together with Solares Architecture, we developed a cohesive concept for our home. The goal was to create a modern design that seamlessly blended with the existing aesthetic of our street. This process required a few attempts and a lot of collaboration to achieve the perfect balance between contemporary style and neighborhood harmony.
Our project began with a floor plan (as it always should) designed by Kyla. If a home is a machine for living that you need to focus on the guts of the machine first. We built and designed our house as we wanted it to include what we needed and wanted as a multigenerational family. We then kicked things off with brainstorming sessions, sharing our vision, preferences, and must-haves. We wanted a design that felt fresh yet timeless, something that would still look great years down the road and blend seamlessly with the other homes around us.
The first few drafts were all about experimenting. We played around with different design elements, materials, and layouts to see what clicked. Each version got us closer to what we had in mind, tweaking and refining until it felt just right. One of the highlights of our design is a huge, eye-catching window. We wanted it to be a statement piece, so we spent a lot of time planning it out. After some research, we chose Chateau Windows. Working with them was a breeze, and they delivered exactly what we envisioned.
Throughout this journey, our collaboration with Solares Architecture made all the difference. Their creativity, attention to detail, and dedication turned our ideas into reality, making this whole experience incredibly rewarding.
